Naturally I wanted to read the articles and the bios in there, strictly for literally purposes. Maybe even get a few ideas for what to wear this summer if I tone up my hips enough (been hitting it pretty hard with English Guy Personal Training workouts). Is it so much to ask for CVS to stock magazines? Back in the day they had a whole aisle to various forms of periodical print. GameInformer, Xbox Magazine, FHM. All quality columnists that have now been laid wayside because establishments like CVS no longer carry magazines.
I stopped at CVS on my way to the gym because I don’t skip leg day. I had a whole plan to get the magazine without the high school kid behind the register judging me and ruining my day. I grabbed an armful of leftover Valentine’s Day candy. Sure, I was going to buy the candy anyway. I’m a candy blogger. I was just going to stack the candy under and on top the magazine so it doesn’t look like I went to the store solely for the magazine. Haven’t you ever been a 17 year old buying a Playboy? But instead I was left wandering around the store with an armful of slowly melting chocolate.
What did I do next, you may ask? After the gym I went to WalMart like a homeless and found their dinky little magazine section. One other guy was clearly in the same boat I was in. We saw the current Sports Illustrated and wanted to squat down to sift through for a swimsuit issue, but no one wants to do that when there’s another dude standing next to you. Gross, you like girls too? And it was all a moot point anyway since they didn’t have the magazine. So now I was forced to go to 711. They also don’t carry magazines.
So now I have candy and no magazine. Tonight I have band practice (sup ladies) and afterwards I’m going to check out two Barnes and Nobles. Hopefully one of them carries it. Look for Part 2 where I review the candy and the magazine.
TL;DR- I went to CVS, WalMart, and 711 looking for the SI Swimsuit Issue. Guess who doesn’t carry the SI Swimsuit Issue? CVS, WalMart, and 711.
