Someone needs to have a talk with TastyKake about their brand name. I've had a few of their products now and the 'Tasty' in 'TastyKake' is a bit of a misnomer. 'AdequateKake' is more like it. The first few bites aren't bad, but they always seem to have an artificial aftertaste.
This cookie bar is no different. It's just a processed attempt at a real snack I probably could have made myself. The first two ingredients are bleached enriched flour and high fructose corn syrup. Something about the taste just screamed 'made in a factory without love.' There's a reason other snack foods don't sell for $0.89, and that's because they're worth it. 3/10. I don't really have an urge to try this again.
PS- There's a TastyKake guarantee on the back of the bar. Quoth the wrapper, "Tastykake products are made to taste great. If not satisfied, full refund guaranteed with proof of purchase, code, and reason for dissatisfaction. Freshness assured through date on package." Yeah well it's convenient I didn't get a receipt or else I'd be causing a stink for my $0.89!
