Did you really think I would only get one cake? Pfft. You fool. Of course I had a second one! The first cake was with some amigos. The second one was with family. Still looking for a way to write off a third cake as a business expense.
That's straight from Spindler's Bakery in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ. It didn't have a dinosaur on it, but damn was it tasty. I notice a lot of cakes tend to be too light and fluffy and lose their structural integrity. This cake had a thick chocolate frosting as a coating, helping to hold every in place.
Look at that frosting! So many bakeries take the lazy way out and only put in enough frosting to hold the layers together. Spindler's one upped them and smothered it in frosting. See the frosting stuck to the plate? When you have to spend another minute licking the frosting off the plate you know they did a good job. 10/10
