The Rock Carnival Review Part 2- Sight Seeing and Snacks

So if you read Part 1 of my review you know that I tried mixing vanilla milk with beer before getting to the headbanging.  Well apparently I was on the 'normal' side of the equation with the attendees.

Ah, young love.

We had a long debate about this guy.  What do you think his monthly budget is for hair gel?  I found an article on WikiHow to give yourself Liberty Spikes.  It says hair gel isn't strong enough and that you need to use fucking glue.  Nothing says fighting the establishment like buying Elmer's in bulk.  Also that vest looks bedazzled.

This guy brought a gas mask to the concert.  I guess he got confused which Anthrax was going to be there.

The festival was half standard carnival, half rock concert.  So you had the leather and chains group with the families trying to show their 5 year old a fun time.  Absolutely ridiculous.

And here we have the most handsome group at the concert!

Now we come to the snack part of the concert.
I did NOT have the deep fried cheese cake.  As delicious as that sounds, my heart can only handle so much in one day.

First was the fried Oreos:
I have a slight issue with the way they were making the Oreos.  They had 6 cookie snack packs that they were opening and dumping into the batter.  According to Amazon, a 30 pack of the 6 cookie packs is $26.55  That a little under $0.15 per cookie.  A bulk pack is 10 sleeves of 13 cookies for $13.30.  That's a bit over $0.10 per cookie.  Saving yourself 4 seconds by not having to count the cookies seems pretty steep when it's adding 50% to your supply costs, but hey what do I know?
WHOA.  Delicious.  The batter made the cookie soften up so you could just pull it apart with ease.  It's like I died and went to heaven.  Then the EMT sucked the pound of cholesterol out of the heart and brought me back to life.  10/10.  If you haven't tried these you're missing out.  And probably have about 4 more years to live than I do.
Also there was a huge amount of powdered sugar.  I didn't want to let it go to waste.  You get a little white powder on your nose and your friends start accusing you of "mainlining powdered sugar."  It's low fat.  Sue me.  I needed to balance out the Oreo batter.

Next we had the funnel cake.  We live pretty close to the Jersey Shore so it's nothing too exotic for us.  But it's still one of those things you don't want in your diet too often because of the whole heart attack thing.  Also, that's even more powdered sugar than the Oreos.  7/10.

The Rock Carnival was a fun time.  Loud music, good food, expensive beer.  The nice weather definitely helped.  This was the first one and they plan on making this an annual event.  We're already planning to go back next year.
