This past weekend the Misfits played their first show with Danzig in New Jersey since 1982.* Like all true punk bands, they performed at the Prudential Center and had several types of tshirts with the date and location to commemorate the event.
I wish I had pictures to show you but Danzig stipulated that everyone's phone be put into some magnetic bag that locks and prevents you from even checking the goddamn time. This was the only picture I managed to take all day:
Way to get it in focus asshole! It reads
WELCOME MISFT FANS
BRUNCH 12 AT PM
Hell's Kitchen doesn't good syntax spelling or have.
I would loved to have gotten a video of Doyle smacking his guitar completely out of time and getting confused when it didn't come through the PA... since I'm pretty sure his guitar wasn't plugged in the whole time.
And since I didn't have my phone I couldn't get a picture of the dessert tray in my suite. Whoa did I have a suite to the show? Goddamn right! Nothing says punk like a luxury seat with catered food. I shared the suite with my cousin and 18 people I have never met in my life.
Turns out that was a bit of a mistake! There were also about a hundred beers in the suite. Did you know the odds of someone having a drinking problem at a punk show are about 1 in 5? Because there were 4 of them in this group of 20. Apparently security had a bit of a problem with that and said the police were called (I think, the music was loud). I guess that was to scare us because the police never showed up. I didn't even see any police in the building. So if you were expecting a conclusion to that subplot, sucks to be you.
Speaking of subplots, back to the dessert. No one told me when it showed up so there were only a few of each left. Also a smattering of M&Ms which confused me a little bit. But the cookies and brownies were delightful! The cookies were the perfect amount of softness mixed with a few chocolate chunks for texture and sweetness. And the brownies were moist, oh so moist. They were cut into half inch squares so I was grabbing 5 at a time. I wish I had a picture to show you peons what you missed out on while you were in mosh pits. I give the dessert a 10/10 for taste and 2/10 for catering since no one told me!
* I saw them in Connecticut in 2010 or so and there were about 75 people there. The mosh pit was 4 people and Jerry Only signed my tshirt after the show.
