My friend came over today with a going away gift for me. (He's going away, not me. He's taking some classes to study for his board while I blog about Oreos) Can't believe I let something like this sneak under my nose when they were right across the street this whole time.
If you recall back to Girl Scout cookie season, you also recall that my house was passed over just like every year at Christmas. I was none too happy. These could be a good consolation, I just have to find a bag of them at the store.
First I tried the Samoa flavored bar. Definitely lived up to the name. Unlike some candy, I could actually tell this was a Crunch bar with coconut flavoring. The only problem was the caramel wasn't spot on. But I'll give them a pass since caramel is a tought flavor to imitate without actual caramel. Now with that being said, neither of those are boutique snacks. But you don't buy Crunch bars for that. You buy them so you can eat a dozen of those little bars. 7/10
Second I had the Tagalong flavored bar. This one surpassed the Samoa cookie. Definitely peanut butter and cookie covered in chocolate and rice crispies. Totally lives up to its name. 8/10.
Someone call Oreo and tell this is how you flavor a goddamn snack. Fucking Red Velvet gave me diabetes and Brownie Batter gave me a sneeze fit. Also, kudos to the Girl Scouts for adding another cross branding product to their ice cream. coffee creamer, and milk. They've got their hands in more pots than Dave Grohl.
