You've probably seen the commercials for the new M&Ms flavors. They're offering honey nut, coffee nut, and chili nut and letting you pick which one becomes a permanent fixture among classics like plain and peanut.
I went to CVS and found the honey nut and chili nut. No big deal, I can just find the coffee nut later, right? Nope. Not worth it. First off, I don't like coffee flavor. Second off, it's not worth my time after trying the first two.
Honey nut was just flat out disgusting. I grabbed a handful, popped them in my mouth, and immediately regretted it. I didn't spit them out, but after two more handfuls I was done. They're just not good.
I'm not entirely sure what honey nut flavor is supposed to taste like. The only other honey nut I can think of is Cheerios, which taste nothing like these. I think with these M&Ms they just put some honey flavor in the chocolate of a peanut M&M. It's not a good mix. The flavors don't blend well. They're all just sitting there. 3/10
Next we have chili nut. What is a chili nut? I have no idea. I'm not going to venture a guess. But they don't have much of a chili taste. You can barely notice anything under the M&Ms hit the back of your tongue and you get a little spiciness.
These didn't taste bad like the honey nut. But I ate them a few times and each time my stomach felt a little odd after each time. Do you know how many times a snack has bothered my stomach? I have like 180 blogs and I think is the third one. 4/10
With my journalistic integrity I was obligated to try the coffee but based on how terrible these first two options were I'm not wasting my time. It'll be interesting to see which one of these half-assed ideas actually wins and then how long M&Ms makes it before giving up on it. In the meantime I need to figure out how to tell M&Ms my vote is to make more peanut butter M&Ms instead of any of these.
