Well what do we have here! KitKat is finally branching out into things besides bigger KitKats and smaller KitKats. I've been waiting on this since I started the blog! (Not really, I never though about KitKats once)
I've done a KitKat review in the past. But those are foreign so they don't count for the American market. Also I've never seen them in stores.
My first question is why do they have mistletoe on the bag? First off, it's absurdly early for Christmas snacks. Second off, no one associates mistletoe with mint. You either associate mistletoe with getting asked to leave your office Christmas party, or if you're smart, being the Norse god Balder's only vulnerability. None of that makes me think of mint flavoring but fuck it they're both green.
The mint flavoring is present but not strong enough to overwhelm the dark chocolate. The wafer however, is only there for the crunch factor. Otherwise this is all dark chocolate with some minty airiness. I've tried several snacks that completely whiff on this balance so I have to give KitKat credit where credit is due, this was well done. 8/10
