Unlike in past years when a certain unnamed company prevented this then-temp worker from attending the Christmas party, yours truly enjoyed a feast of a holiday luncheon at the office.
Fun fact: there were actually 3 pies available but when I'm not hiding behind a keyboard I have to downplay my blogger lifestyle. The guy in front of me cut 1 of each in half. I expected him to take a half of each pie. No. He took the apple pie and left. I was dumbfounded. Who randomly cuts pies in half? What happened during your childhood that would do such a thing? Literally mind bottling.
So I ate half a pumpkin pie. It was pretty good, but the crust was overpowering. I think there is a minimum amount of crust needed for a pie to hold together, and the larger the pie gets, the larger the pumpkin to crust ratio increases. 6/10.
The brownie was a different story. Moist, rich, big. All of these are adjectives you want to use to describe a brownie. That dollop of cream was a nice touch too. The caterers obviously want people to know their baking skills at least well above average. 8/10.
One lady I've never seen before came by my desk and made me take this chocolate-covered strawberry. Let's get one thing clear: I hate strawberries. It's not even an irrational hatred like Motley Crue. Their consistency is unnatural and they taste bad. But I'm a blogger so being unbiased in is my blood. That being said, 0/10. The chocolate was laid on very thick but strawberries still suck.
